How to Install Ansible
Ansible can be run from any machine with Python 2 (versions 2.6 or 2.7) or Python 3 (versions 3.5 and higher) installed (Windows isn’t supported for the control machine).
The installation instructions can be found here - http://docs.ansible.com/ansible/latest/intro_installation
For this lesson I am going to be installing Ansible on an Ubuntu Desktop running on VMWare Workstation Pro 10 all on my Windows 10 Laptop.
This is going to be installed on a clean install of Ubuntu so you will see exactly what happens and what you should expect to see.
We will not be covering file permissions and different users. This is assuming a one user lab setup.
Install Ansible on Ubuntu
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install software-properties-common $ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:ansible/ansible $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ansible
